Welcome to Adult PBT Class 1, guided by Tamsyn, a former PBT student and professional dancer. This introductory class sets out what the PBT Adult Programme is and who it's designed for: active adults who want to move with more awareness, strength, and control, regardless of dance background.
Each class opens with a purposeful warm-up that builds postural awareness and projects wellbeing and confidence. Every exercise is chosen with intent — developing core strength and the muscles that stabilise balance, while also supporting healthy bone density as the muscles around the bones grow stronger. The class closes with a series of slow stretches that flow to music, bringing the body back to rest.
By the end of Class 1, students understand what to expect from the programme and why: better posture, core strength, body awareness, and mobility — all without needing any dance background, just a willingness to move.
Tips:
- Frame this class as an introduction to a philosophy, not just a workout — the purpose behind each exercise (posture, core, bone health) matters as much as the movement itself.
- Reassure students up front that no dance background is required; willingness to move is the only prerequisite.
