This exercise is designed to refine students' understanding of controlled weight transfer. It develops their ability to transition through different positions while staying balanced and aligned.
Preparation: Position students sideways at the barre and start with the right foot placed on a fusion ball in devant.
Steps:
1. Students fondu (plié), extending the front leg, with toes elongated over the fusion ball. And stretch the supporting leg.
2. Instruct them to perform a second fondu, pushing from the supporting leg and rolling over the fusion ball and into an arabesque. Adjust the port de bras accordingly.
3. Have them transfer their weight en arrière through a demi plié and recover in devant. The port de bras should flow through second and settle back ready to repeat.
4. Repeat the sequence three times before switching sides.
Focus:Stress the importance of maintaining turnout and controlled movement through each transition.
