Welcome to Fusion Warm Up 6 guided by Coni Belgareto. This session offers a whole body approach, with a focus on arabesque alignment and extension. Dancers will work on activating their adductors and deep rotators – two essential components for ensuring safe and effective alignment in arabesque.
A key exercise in this session is Derriere Extension. This exercise uses the fusion ball to help dancers develop the stability required for strong and safe arabesques. The slow tempo will challenge the dancer’s ability to control the movement whilst enhancing their awareness and activation of the adductors, core and hip stabilisers.
Tips
Encourage the dancer to think about both legs rotating towards the ball.
Cue the activation of the deep rotators to help keep the hips down and square on the mat.
Focus on control over height – the exercise is about alignment not about flexibility.
