Designed for teachers of any form of dance as well as Pilates & Yoga instructors who wish to learn dance technique through the Progressing Contemporary Technique method developed by Adam Blanch.

About the Workshop

Designed for teachers of any form of dance, as well as Pilates and Yoga instructors, who wish to learn contemporary dance technique through the official Progressing Contemporary Technique (PCT) method.

The PCT workshop has been carefully structured to allow students to organically develop their contemporary technique through a progressive structure of exercises. These exercises will be broken down by program creator Adam Blanch in explicit detail, offering deep insights into the function of each movement, muscular utilisation, musicality, and the appropriate use of breath.

Participants will have the opportunity to practice teaching each exercise, giving you the correct articulation and confidence required to successfully launch the program in your own teaching environments. The workshop will conclude with an in-depth Q&A session.

What is Progressing Contemporary Technique (PCT)?

Progressing Contemporary Technique is an innovative program created by Adam Blanch in conjunction with Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). Devised as a series of functional exercises, PCT is designed to help dancers explore and develop ultimate freedom of movement. The method brings deep awareness to the importance of finding articulation through the body, allowing that discovery to grant an enhanced sense of mobility in contemporary dance and other movement forms.

Key Pillars of the PCT Method:

Freedom of movement
Articulate mobility
Functional mechanics
Breath & musicality
