Welcome to Mobility Class 6 – Junior Level, guided by Melissa McCabe. This class develops mobility, strength and control while improving awareness of pelvic, spinal and lower body alignment. Students will work on core and supporting leg strength, turnout, balance and flexibility.

Twist & Reach develops spinal rotation and oblique strength, while Pelvis Alignment and Turnout Power Band build awareness and strength around the pelvis and hips. Leg & Body Extension then challenges balance through lateral weight transfer, while Melting with Port de Bras combines weight placement, fondu and port de bras.

The class continues with Full Range Adagio, using resistance to develop the devant, à la seconde and arabesque lines. Dolphin Preparation then strengthens the core, adductors, hamstrings and upper body. The class finishes with Tap Your Toes and Breath & Stretch, working on foot and ankle strength, hamstring mobility and controlled stretching.

Tips:

In Twist & Reach, remind students to initiate the rotation from the spine rather than the shoulders — the obliques should feel like they're driving the movement.

In Melting with Port de Bras, cue correct foot placement on the ball and knee alignment throughout the fondus — tension in the neck, shoulders, or fingers is a sign that something else needs adjusting.

Remind students throughout the session that working within their own range is the priority — genuine mobility develops through consistency and control, not through forcing.
