Welcome to Move & Groove 11 – Junior Level, guided by Jenna Roberts. This warm-up builds core strength, upper body activation, and coordination, closing with allegro work that connects musicality with technical precision.
Activate & Mobilize opens the class with spinal mobility and posterior chain activation, establishing a strong base before the more demanding work ahead. Triceps Foundation develops triceps, abdominal, and adductor strength simultaneously, with coordination between the upper and lower body as a key element. Fusion Pike targets the core and upper body through a demanding sequence that requires control throughout. The class closes with Allegro Musical Drill, using the ProBall and wall to develop coordination and musicality in allegro work — allowing dancers to focus on quality and timing without the full demand of freestanding jumps.
Tips
In Activate & Mobilize, cue the mini loop band as active feedback throughout — students should feel it working consistently, not only at certain moments.
Remind students to keep the ball active between the calves throughout Triceps Foundation — the adductor engagement is what makes the leg work effective, not just the movement itself.
In Allegro Musical Drill, draw attention to timing and phrasing — the supported position is an opportunity to develop musical awareness that's harder to access when the full demand of the jump is there.
