FROM THE MEDICAL AND DANCE SCIENCE COMMUNITY

Marie Walton-Mahon has been training exceptional students to achieve their full potential for many years. The Progressing Ballet Technique series is a unique and highly successful program aimed at enhancing a student’s understanding of correct technique through core stability, weight placement and alignment. As a Dance Physiotherapist the goal of awareness through education to minimise injury is never far from my mind and I feel a program  of this calibre is an excellent adjunct to the training of senior students.

Marie Walton-Mahon’s DVD programs teach posture, core stability, alignment and muscle memory in an effective manner that is instantly transferable to ballet class. Her unique style of conditioning, honed through over forty years of teaching is what sets her program apart from anything else on the market. As a dance physiotherapist I see this program as an extremely valuable tool for any dancer, dance teacher, dance physiotherapist or Pilates practitioner who works with dancers. I integrate elements of her program into my daily practice as a physiotherapist and Pilates practitioner when working with dancers and elite level movers. Highly recommended.

Marie Walton-Mahon’s new DVD of Progressing Ballet Technique is an invaluableresource for the advanced dancer. Training load and dance hours follow an upward trend as artists’ progress in their training, and as a physiotherapist I see every day why technique and targeted strength are so important at this age. This is not only a tool for artistic and technical progression, but for injury prevention, injury management, and longevity of your dance career.
