Welcome to Move & Groove 12 – Senior Level, guided by Melissa McCabe. This class combines hip activation, core control, leg strength, and port de bras work in a warm-up that connects technical precision with expressive movement.

Alternate Leg Rotators – Extension opens the class in bridge, developing glute and hamstring strength while coordinating turnout and parallel rotation with port de bras. Core Roll takes the body through a sequence of postural transitions, activating the core and back while lengthening through the hamstrings and Achilles. Piqué Band Power builds strength and energy in the legs, using the mini loop band to increase the demand across multiple directions and in both parallel and turnout. The class closes with Port de Bras Musicale, a flowing exercise that develops coordination and torso elongation while encouraging a sense of freedom in the movement.

Tips

Cue the connection between rotation and port de bras in Alternate Leg Rotators – Extension — arm and leg should move as one, not independently.

In Core Roll, remind dancers that the quality of the transitions matters as much as where they end up — cue control through each change of position.

In Piqué Band Power, encourage precision in each piqué — the band increases the demand, so alignment becomes even more important.

Port de Bras Musicale is an exercise in breath and expression — let the music shape the quality of the movement.
