Welcome to Focus Class 6 – Coordination & Musicality, guided by Nicole Hamill. This class explores precision, fluidity, and full-body coordination through a series of exercises that connect strength, alignment, and expressive movement.

The session begins with Full Body Activation and Dynamic Core, where students engage the glutes, hamstrings, abdominals, and obliques. These exercises build strength and stability through the posterior chain and torso, establishing a strong physical base for the class.

As the class progresses, students move through a variety of exercises that further challenge control and coordination. Port de Bras Stability – Extension reinforces pelvic stability and postural alignment, while Grand Adage encourages careful attention to alignment in développé positions and the use of breath to support movement.

Later in the session, Batterie Refinement focuses on the activation of deep rotators and intrinsic foot muscles to clarify beating actions, while Retiré Sauté develops the use of the adductors and coordination required for controlled jumps.

The class concludes with Quick Stretch, allowing students to lengthen the hip flexors and hamstrings and release muscular tension.

Tips:

Emphasise pelvic stability and alignment throughout the session.

Maintain a long, neutral spine and avoid collapsing the chest or shoulders.

Encourage students to coordinate breath with movement to achieve fluidity, especially in adage and port de bras.
