Amber Romano, a Rhode Island native, received her early classical ballet training at Festival Ballet (now Ballet RI) and Heritage Ballet, and spent her summers studying at prestigious institutions including Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. During her final years of high school, she trained under internationally renowned coaches Trinidad Vives and Parren Ballard and was awarded the Anthony Quinn Foundation Scholarship in 2011 to continue her studies during her senior year.

Upon graduating from high school, Ms. Romano began her professional career with Nashville Ballet, where she performed for four seasons in numerous productions, including two of her favorites, Swan Lake and George Balanchine's Serenade. In 2016, she joined both Todd Rosenlieb Dance and Virginia Ballet Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia, performing principal roles with each company for four years while also serving as director of the pre-professional Virginia Ballet Theatre Ensemble.

Ms. Romano began teaching professionally in 2014. Her approach to ballet education has been shaped by exceptional mentors, decades of one-on-one work with dance physiotherapists, and years of experience working closely with her own students. She is passionate about helping dancers understand the science and anatomical principles that support strong technique while fostering the sheer joy and expressive freedom that make ballet meaningful. She has taught dancers of all ages and experience levels, from young children and recreational adults to pre-professional students and professional company artists.

Since 2022, Ms. Romano has served on the faculty of The Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, where she teaches ballet and pointe to pre-professional students in both the Dance and Musical Theatre departments. Her choreography has been featured in the Dance department's concerts as well as receiving multiple regional and national awards. Additionally, she teaches at several studios throughout the Hampton Roads area and serves as an adjudicator for a national dance competition.
